The world is getting hotter, with that heat comes drought and wildfires. Excess
heat in the atmosphere creates more potent and destructive storms. Some areas
are projected to get so hot that human life will not be sustainable year-round.
Even in the frigid tundras and taigas of the world, heat is becoming an
inevitable problem. As permafrost begins to thaw, thousands of tons of
methane trapped within the ice are released back into the atmosphere,
causing temperatures to spike.
